| As evidenced by the rapid outpouring of grief
amongst his former high school classmates, Andy will be truly missed. Brilliant
business intellect, unmatched wit and well timed, on the spot humor. I will
sadly miss Andy and our R-rated annual Longhorn/Sooner pregame emails. Jeannie
and I offer our heartfelt sympathy and prayers to the family. |

| I was also a classmate of Andy's from the
Lancaster HS Class of 1964. I have enjoyed being reunited with Andy during the
past 7 years via e-mail. Andy always had a story to share with me about Chloe,
who I believe was the "love of his life". Andy will be truly missed by his many
classmates and friends from Lancaster. My deepest sympathy to the family. |

| What a sad day for all of us - family and
friends. I, too, went from Kindergarten through 12th grade with Andy and when I
saw the announcement of his death, the sorrow was overwhelming-but- it was
quickly followed by many fond and funny memories of my times with Andy. Remember
when Andy lost his "contact" in Mr. Miller's class? And of course, just how many
pencils did he drop? Great memories. I'm sure many will be told and retold at
our reunion in October. With much joy and laughter - what better tribute to our
friend - he'd love it.
I watched him present at a conference a few years back in San Diego and we had a
glass of wine together afterwards. What a gentleman, scholar and great friend. I
will miss him dearly.
My sympathy to the family. |

| Andy was in my home room during our years in
high school in Lancaster. Ohio. His wit was a unique part of his great
personality.
Like many of my classmates I will remember Andy with a smile and warm heart.
My deepest condolences to his daughters and grandaughter, Chloe! May you know
his passing brought waves of shock throughout his friends in Ohio and around the
country. |

| Dear VanGundy Family Members, Colleagues and
Friends,
It is with deep sadness that I express condolences on behalf of the Creative
Education Foundation (CEF) Board of Trustees and the CEF community.
Andy was a valued leader of the Foundation for over 25 years participating in
the Creative Problem Solving Institute (CPSI) and other initiatives of the
Foundation. He was both a wise and witty friend as well as an expert and
significant contributor to the field of deliberate creativity.

| We are so saddened to hear of Andy's passing.
Andy was a CPSI friend, and I delighted in his poignant teachings and his wacky
sense of humor. His back-and-forth repartee with Roger Firestien was a true
highlight of our time together at the creativity conference, where I always
looked forward to re-connecting with and learning from him. Recently, we'd
served on a committee together which led to conversations about collaborating.
Our exploration of potential topics was wide-ranging, intellectually
stimulating, and a boat-load of fun.
As much as I am disappointed that we will not be able to co-create, I am mostly
saddened that we will no longer be able to enjoy his insights, friendship, and
terrible puns.
We wish you many warm memories to comfort you in your loss.
With deepest sympathy,

| I'm so sorry to hear about Andy's passing. He
was such a great guy. I remember our wonderful connection when he was the
keynote speaker at his first CPSI. He was so open and funny and helpful, a joy
to "hang" with. He was always a support to me and many others. It feels like the
world is a great deal poorer for losing him so early. |

| I received word about the passing of Andy and
I really couldn't believe it. I'd like to express my deepest sympathy for your
in times of your tragic loss. Though just for a short time I was honoured and
blessed to know Andy and to share some precious moments with him, his
incommensurable wisdom, his unique humour, his fresh mind and curious attitude,
and his inspiring and likewise encouraging laughter. Above many things which I
was blessed to share with and to learn from him, HE was a genuine role model
for: There is but one step from Haha to Aha. As a true friend he will be in my
heart forever as well as he will be a member in our Creativity Hall of Fame! A
great Creative hero and a genuine inspiration for all! May he find peace and
laughter wherever he is travelling now!
God bless you!
Yours

| To Sarah and family
All our thoughts at this sad time. For many people, Andy's life and work will
be remembered with warmth and admiration.
E-mail feels a strange way of communicating, but somehow Andy would have
approved of the technological fix when words are hard to find.
