Matthew was born December 27, 1979 in Oklahoma City, the son of L. Michael and Sheila J. (Sales) Dillard. He passed away Saturday evening, May 25, 2013 at Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma.

Matt lived briefly in Arizona and California before returning to his hometown of Norman, where he attended the Norman Public Schools. He completed his senior year of high school at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri, graduating in 1998. Matt later attended Rose State College, Oklahoma City Community College and the Oklahoma City campus of Oklahoma State University.

Matt had a passion for race cars, beginning his racing career at age 14. He won several titles including the National Championship of Legend Road Racing in 1997. Matt also raced several times in NASCAR races before retiring from racing.

It could be said that Matt was an adrenaline junky, always pushing the limits beyond what anybody could imagine. He enjoyed being the first and the best at everything he chose to do and took great delight in competing fiercely with his father. Matt was very good at snowboarding, wakeboarding, and skate boarding. Simply put, anything with a challenge, Matt was sure to answer the call and show up ready to take it on. Matt also enjoyed playing racquetball and golf.

Matt was united in marriage to Miss Andrea Danielle Charles on October 4, 2008 in Oklahoma City. Matt was an outstanding husband and father, enjoying a very special relationship with his daughter, Jayden. Nothing brought him more peace and happiness than spending time with his family and friends.

Matt also took great comfort in helping others. No matter what the need was, if Matt was aware of it, he did everything he could to ease the burdens of others. He loved music and caring for animals too.

He was a member of Journey Church and the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).
