Our History | Havenbrook Funeral Home & Cremations
funeral home and cremations in Norman, OK

Our History

Havenbrook Funeral Home was founded in 1995 by Frank Clifton Gatewood and Jeanne Roberts Gatewood.

Jeanne, a licensed funeral director, had a vision of providing Norman and the surrounding area with a family-operated funeral home where families could share in the comfort of a beautiful and peaceful place to honor, reflect, and pay tribute to a life lived.

Havenbrook Funeral Home quickly became Norman's premier funeral home, focusing on families' specific needs to create tailored and meaningful funeral and cremation services.

Jeanne continued leading Havenbrook until becoming ill with cancer in 1999.  She passed away in July 2001, at which time Jeanne's mother and father, Verlene and John Roberts, and her twin sister, Jo Bennett, continued her legacy of providing families with the very best.  As a result of their efforts, Havenbrook Funeral Home continued to grow, becoming Norman's largest funeral home provider.

The Roberts and Jo Bennett continued operating the business until April 2010, when they chose to retire and transfer Havenbrook Funeral Home to new owners.

Today, the local professionals at Havenbrook Funeral Home share in the passion of serving people and caring for families that have experienced a loss.

Traditional values with modern day services allow the Havenbrook team to create meaningful and memorable life tributes tailored to fit your family's specific needs.
