Ailene Pennington, of Norman passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017.  She was born on May 7, 1929 in Pontotoc County to WM and Virgie Pierce.

Ailene grew up in the Ada, Oklahoma area and graduated from Vanoss High School.  While in high school, Ailene met and married her lifetime husband Calvin Pennington on July 28, 1946.   Ailene and Calvin were so much more than husband and wife - they were partners in many endeavors such as roofing houses for others or putting quilts together for family members.   Mom loved crocheting, sewing, quilting, yard work of all kinds, doing for others, jigsaw puzzles, and playing board games with children and grandchildren around her kitchen table.

Ailene was preceded in death by her husband Calvin; her parents WM and Virgie Pierce; two brothers Mavery and Floyd; and one sister Aleta.  She is survived by her children David Pennington and wife Barbara of Norman, Oklahoma; Rosia Pace and husband Vernon of Grand Junction, Colorado; Debbie Crouch and husband Cliff of Austin, Texas; and Della Pennington of Norman, Oklahoma.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeff (Caley) Pace and Sondra Pace of Grand Junction; Melissa (Ben) Frede of Lincoln; Scott (Amanda) Crouch of San Antonio; and Amy Pennington, Jaycee Manning, and Bryan Manning all of Norman.  Her surviving great grandchildren are Micah Pace, Michala Pace, Mikinley Pace all of Grand Junction and Calvin Manning of Norman.

The family would appreciate friends to join them for a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street, Norman, OK.  A celebration of Ailene’s life will be held at Lakeside Church of God, 4400 Alameda, Norman, OK on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Maxwell Cemetery on County Road 347 in Oil Center, OK at 2:00 p.m.
