Alice Genevieve Boeskin

February 1, 1932 ~ April 24, 2015 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Genevieve Boeskin, 83, of Noble, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015. Born in 1932 in Norman, Genevieve was one of five children born to her parents, the late Marvin and Icy Walton. In 1948, she married Richard “Tom” Boeskin and together, they shared in 43 years of marriage prior to his passing. Genevieve had a warm personality, loved to laugh, dance and was simply full of life. She was a gifted artist who was known for her beautiful paintings and especially amongst her family for the portraits she did of them and their pets. Caring for her family and others was also at the forefront of her life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her love and care was often expressed in a warm embrace, a delicious meal she prepared or just by sitting and talking but no matter what form it came in, she always showed her love to those she cared for. Genevieve was also a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had worked at the University Book Exchange on the campus of O.U. for about 28 years before her retirement in 1990.

Although Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband, she is survived by her loving family which includes her three daughters, Suzanne Pendergraft and husband Bill of Norman, Kathy Chanes of Norman, and Pam Gutierrez and husband Mike of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Rick Pendergraft, Roy Pendergraft, Victoria Gutierrez, and Sara Gutierrez; as well as five great grandchildren, Katelyn, Kamden, Chesney, Isabella, and Will Pendergraft; and four step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 26th from 1 to 8 p.m. at Havenbrook Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. and a Prayer Vigil at 6 p.m. that evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 27th at St. Charles Borromeo Chapel in the St. Joseph Parish Family Life Center, 421 E. Acres Street, Norman. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
