Beatrice Evans Luther

April 18, 1918 ~ October 18, 2017 (age 99) 99 Years Old

Beatrice Evans Luther, 99, of Norman passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. She was born April 15, 1918, in Hartford, Arkansas, to Joe and Bertha Johnson Goforth.
Bea was raised by her loving aunt and uncle, Allen and Eula Johnson, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, after the death of her mother when Bea was only 10 months old. Bea lived in Wewoka, OK, with her first husband, Raymond Evans. She would later move to San Antonio, TX, with second husband Fred Luther. Bea decided to move back to Oklahoma upon retirement and settled in Seminole, OK, before her final move to Norman, OK, in order to be closer to her family. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Wewoka, and a member of First Christian Church, Seminole. Bea was an artist; she began painting in her 50’s. Many friends and family members have her artwork displayed in their homes. She was a prolific writer, writing many God-centered journals and prayer lists. Her detailed prayer lists are evidence of her strong belief in the power of prayer. She also had the sharpest wit and an edgy sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Raymond Evans, and her second husband, Fred Luther; her son-in-law, Ervin Roley; as well as three sisters and one brother. Bea is survived by her daughter, Nancy Evans Roley of Norman, OK; her granddaughter, Nan Roley Schuchman of Norman, OK, and her husband Russ Schuchman; her great grandsons, Reed Schuchman and Rylan Schuchman; her step-daughter, Jeanne Wangler of San Antonio, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside services will be held 11 am Monday, October 23, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman, OK.
Bea’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Rambling Oaks Assisted Living and the staff of Frontier Hospice.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Bea to the Interfaith Social Ministries, P.O. Box 1602, Seminole, OK 74818.
