Jace Braxton Newville

Linda, age 50, Brooklynn, age 9, and Jace, age 5 of Norman passed away Saturday, March 18th, 2017. Linda was born June 13th, 1966 in Oklahoma City, OK to Thermon Smith and Barbra (McNutt) Smith. Brooklynn was born August 13th, 2007 and Jace was born April 20th, 2011 in Norman, OK to Brian Newville and Shanee’ (Irie) Newville.

Linda grew up just outside the small town of McLoud and played basketball through middle and high school. She fell in love on that basketball court and followed her love from Florida to Tennessee, California and back to Oklahoma while being blessed with her 3 precious daughters. She had been given everything she had ever wanted, the opportunity to be the best wife and mother she could be. They moved all over the country, lived in many different houses and she always managed to create the most loving home for her family. Linda spent most of her time teaching her girls trust, kindness and respect. Playing board games, word games and hand drawing banners of her girls favorite characters for birthday parties. She made up a “why did the chicken cross the road” joke that she told all our lives, “because he was stuck in the monsters tooth!” and she was the only one who thought it was funny. As time passed she was blessed with grandchildren that she just couldn't get enough of. Brooklynn and Jace, both with sandy hair and bright blue/green eyes. Every ounce of fun Linda poured into her children was passed through generations to these young, beautiful and vibrant kids. Kids who spent their time playing games, dress up, and doing everything they could to make their family and friends smile. Brooklynn’s favorite things include YouTube, (she referred to herself as “B-Cookie”), singing, dancing, and fashions shows. She had a dream to be a famous YouTuber.
Some of Jace’s favorites include superheroes, Legos, and break dancing. He constantly wore his pants and underwear inside out and everyone loved laughing about it. Both kids enjoyed taco Tuesday with the family and candle-lit fancy dinners as well. These kids were loved by so many and had countless friends, aunts, uncles, and people who would do anything for them. They truly brightened up the world with their free spirits and constant smiles. Their final days were spent having a blast with friends over spring break, including having princess day and pillow fights at a hotel in Norman.

Linda Danette Smith Irie and her granddaughter Brooklynn and grandson Jace were carried to heaven by God’s angels on March 18th.
Linda and her grandchildren joined her sisters Cheryl and Diana and her niece Laurie in heaven.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-two years, Shawn, her daughter Shanee' and her husband Brian, her daughter Aleena and her husband Dan and their children Julia and Danny, and her daughter Kiera.
Linda is also survived by her parents Thermon and Barbara, siblings, Harvey, Clint and his wife Brenda, Onney and his fiancé Debra and Gay and her husband Tim, eighteen nieces and nephews and twenty-five great-nieces and great-nephews.
