James R Flood II of Norman Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home Thursday February 1st 2018. He left behind a daughter Beverly Elizabeth Flood and her husband Jake, a son Steven Ray Flood his wife Jennifer and their 8 year old granddaughter Lilia as well as a town full of beloved friends.

Known in some circles as the neighborhood guardian angel, others as a prince, some as dad or grandpa, but to most Jim or Jimmy. He was generous, kind and would jump at any opportunity to help someone in need. He was a true gentleman and a hero to many.

"Squirrel man" or "coon man" was an animal lover through and through. His daily animal feeding routine would wear out most people. He truly whispered to animals.

Jim was a professional at whatever he was doing and rarely fell down. A stubborn minimalist that could see potential in anyone then strived to help them reach success. He touched many lives throughout his.

His F150 was never dull nor his face unshaven or his hair not neat. His collection of chamois, clothespins, tape, drafting materials, navy blue sweatshirts and topographic maps was impressive. His knowledge of geology, landscaping, history, poker and fishing were all well above par.

Jimmy hardly ever wore a shirt in the summer; never missed an important date and he sent the best cards with choice words on occasions. He thought chili on spaghetti noodles was a dish for royals and wouldn't touch a stinky cheese, under-cooked meat, turkey dogs, sushi or anything weird like that. He liked his meat scorched his beer cold and his friends close. (most of the time)

Family, friends, fishing, entertaining and enjoying the great outdoors were his passions. He will be missed by many but wouldn't want one of us to overly mourn his death.
