I'm very surprised about Rick's passing. He was a great guy did wonderful work on my house many years ago. I was fortunate enough to visit them in Hawaii many years ago. He's been on my mind lately maybe there's a reason. My condolences to family.

For Rick, our oldest friend.
We've known each other since elementary school. We always had fun, laughed and sometimes cried. We had many good times and some not so good times, but we always got through them together. We'll never forget our hunting and fishing trips, pool games and Pinochle nights. You are a dedicated and devoted husband, loving and supportive father, a caring and adoring son and the best friend anyone could ever have. We know you're catching up now with Earl and Mama Kaiser. Our world has lost a GREAT man and God has gained one.
We love you and miss you. You may be gone, but you will be in our hearts and minds forever. Thank you for always being there for us.

We were blessed by Elder Layton's firm testimony and poisitve attitude always.. Elder Layton said he had been on both sides and knew God. His testimony reminds me of the testimony of Francis Webster through tough stuff came to know God. Sister Layton your testimony was that you had married a Man of God by inspiration. Our time spend with you has and will be treasured. Thanks for the unwavering faith you both have. Elder Layton's examples of ways he wanted to and did serve others were amazing. I remember his conversion on a daddy Daughter Date and how did they have so much good clean fun. Thankful for the testimonies you both always radiated . We send you our love, Val and Kathryn Paulsen

We served a mission with Bro. and Sis Layton at Martin's Cove for two summers. So much fun. Don did Blues Bros. the second summer. We laughed and laughed. The service rendered by Bro. and Sis Layton was inspiring. Second summer Don helped rebuild roofs on the permanent trailers. He loved working beside Bro. Layton. Wish we were not so far away. Would love to be at the service with Becky and family. Prayers.

Serving with Rick and Becky in Martin's Cove Wyoming is among the most cherished memories of my life. Rick was such a wonderful example of how to live a life to the fullest. He always gave much more than he received. Heavenly Father has a great one with him now.
