Mattie Adelene Smith, 87, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away the morning of Saturday May 6th, 2017. She was born March 20th, 1930 in Denton Community, Oklahoma to Albert Lewis and Oneda Grace (Autry) Hall.
She attended Lawton High School and graduated in 1948. She married the love of her life, William Earl Smith, on October 12th, 1949 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Adelene started her banking career in Lawton and continued when her and her husband moved to Norman in 1953. She worked as a bank teller at Security National Bank until she retired. She was an avid member of Bethel Baptist Church of Norman, Oklahoma, and enjoyed spending her leisure time on her back porch with a cup of coffee and growing beautiful flowers in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert & Oneda Hall; her husband William Smith; her brother Donal Hall. She is survived by her sisters June Wine & Louella Michael and their families; her son Michael Smith & wife Yong Smith and their children Adam Smith and Bonny Case; her daughter Kimberly Smith.
The family will be present to receive friends from 12:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, May 11th, 2017, and visitation for immediate family will begin from 11:00 AM to 12:00PM on Thursday, May 11th, 2017, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00AM, Friday May 12th, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church of Norman located at 1717 W Lindsey Street, officiated by Pastor Matt Brown, with interment following at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Lawton.
