Sharon Rae Stewart, 62, of Choctaw, OK passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. Sharon was born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 24, 1955 to John and Frances Dillard. Sharon grew up in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School in 1973. She continued her education at Oscar Rose Jr. College and Central State where she received her teaching degree. After obtaining her undergrad, Sharon received her Masters Degree in Reading from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Sharon married the love of her life, Mark Stewart, on April 24, 1976 and they shared 41 years of marriage. Sharon’s passion in life was teaching and her church. Sharon always knew she wanted to be a teacher. She would share …“I knew I wanted to teach since my first day of Kindergarten” with most who knew her. She retired from teaching from Stanley Hupfeld Academy at Western Village in Oklahoma City, OK. Sharon also enjoyed her church and being involved with many of the group’s activities there. Sharon loved organizing the Church picnic each year as well as assisting new guests with classes about the church.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Mark, of the home; brother, William Dillard and his wife, Margaret; two nephews: Bryan Dillard and his wife, Cortney and Robert Dillard; two great nephews: Gabriel and Liam Dillard; one great niece, Abigail Dillard and many other family members, church members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Dillard.
Memorial Services to remember Sharon will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Cathedral Episcopal Church.
