She graduated from Norman High School, continuing her education and becoming a Nurse, working for Dr. Willard, Dr. Belknap, and Dr. Wall. She was an active fifty year member of the “Order of Eastern Star”. Sammie lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Kathryn and Ron Smith for the past ten years after they moved from San Ramon, California, and purchased a home in Norman, Oklahoma. Sammie was predeceased by her husband and the father of her dearly loved daughter, Mary, Frank Matlock; her husband of 32 years, Ira Craig; her parents, Otis Adrian Fox and Reba Bowls-Fox; her brothers, Cliff, Jack, and Gene Fox; and her sister, Muriel Huff.
