Tony P. Eidson
November 14th, 1933 – February 20th, 2017
Tony Eidson, age 83, of Norman left us peacefully on February 20th, surrounded by family. Tony was born in Sulphur, OK to E.G. and Hazel Eidson on Nov. 14th, 1933. Tony was in the Air Force along with his 4 brothers. For the majority of his life, Tony worked for The Daily Oklahoman. In his free time, he enjoyed sports such as golf, softball, basketball, and many others. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Most of all, he enjoyed making people laugh and was known as the “favorite” uncle and grandpa of the family. Tony is preceded in death by his parents; E.G. and Hazel, brothers; Jerry, Don, Darrel, Bob and sisters Betty, and Peggy. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Neta Eidson, 5 children; Alan Eidson and Wife Tina, Connie Morren and husband Brad, Dee Glidewell and husband Derald, Patrick Hart and wife Debby, and daughter Janet Barnes. He is also survived by his brother Porter Eidson, and 10 grandchildren; Alan Eidson Jr. and wife Daniela, Ashley Eidson, Taylor Morren, Kari Goolsby and husband Obbie, Mitchell Glidewell, Michele and Tony Hart, Kimberly Hughes and husband Jarrett, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Glidewell and 5 great grandchildren; Mackenzie, Blake, Cristopher, Konner, and Preston. Tony is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family of Tony wishes to extend their sincere thank you to Medical Park West, Valir Hospice, and every individual that had a hand in his care. A memorial service will be held for Tony at Havenbrook Funeral Home on Saturday, the 25th of Feb. at 2 pm.
