Betty Eick

Betty Eick died peacefully at home in Norman on May 2, 2022, at the age of 96.  After moving to Norman in 1959, she taught junior high and middle school English and history in the Norman Public Schools from 1960 to 1985.  In retirement Betty enjoyed traveling with family and friends including trips to Europe, Asia, and South America.  She loved a good book, music of all kinds, a friendly game of bridge, and watching the birds from her kitchen window.

Preceded in death by her husband, William F. Eick, she is survived by her daughter Barbara Sawka, her husband John and daughter Elizabeth of Palo Alto, California; and her son William R. Eick and his wife Mindi McElwain of Norman.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held.
