Billie Louise Heap passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022. She was born to Del and Alta Brunsteter on January 27,1922 in Ingersol, OK. She lived in Alva, OK; Detroit, MI; Amarillo, TX; and Borger, TX until graduating from Alva High School and enrolled at the University of Oklahoma where she met Paul Heap.

They decided on the spur of the moment to be married on July 28, 1941 in Ashland, KS while shuttling Paul back to his summer job in Leavenworth, Kansas after his weekend visit to Alva. They kept it secret so that Paul would not lose his basketball scholarship until he had to report for active duty after Pearl Harbor. They were then separated with him in the Pacific Theater of WWII for 2 and a half years. They enjoyed the next 63.5 years until his death in 2007 as inseparable partners.

She was one of the first women to graduate from the Business School at OU and Paul graduated in Architectural/ Engineering and they moved to Oklahoma City, and then in 1954 to Tulsa where they lived until 2002. Billie went back to the University of Tulsa for her Education Degree and taught 6th grade elementary in Tulsa from 1965 to 1980. She moved to Brentwood, Tennessee in 2002 and lived there until she returned to Norman, Oklahoma in 2015.

She is survived by her son, Alan (Nancy) Heap, Norman, OK; granddaughters, Hunter Blackburn, Suwanee, GA; Courtney Heap, Norman, OK; great-grandson Beau Blackburn, Suwanee, GA; great-granddaughters, Madeline and Lane Blackburn, Suwanee, GA; and sister, Jan McClain, Denver, CO.

A private family service is planned.
