Brent Barnes, of Norman, OK, passed away July 22, 2018 at the age of 69. Brent was born June 16, 1949 in Norman, to Don and Jean (Merrill) Barnes.
On December 30, 1977, Brent married the love of his life, his wife Brenda Barnes in Oklahoma City.
He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his children and his grandchildren, all of whom he adored. Brent was a proud, boisterous Italian who loved traveling back to his motherland - again and again. He was an avid golfer, loved the Sooners and the Oklahoma City Thunder, and was a chronic Harley Davidson window shopper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Justice Don Barnes; and grandparents, Dr. Maurice H. and Orpha Merrill, and Smith and Ann Barnes.
He will be greatly missed by countless loved ones and friends including his wife, Brenda Barnes; sons, Jason Barnes and wife Kristina, Ramsey Barnes and wife Kelsey; daughters, Kristy Brown and husband Patrick, Brooke Shankles and husband Lance; grandchildren: Duke, Madie, Addison, Jackson, J.J., and Brynn; brother, Ron Barnes and wife Debbie; sister, Beth Lott and husband Thomas; other brother, Bobby Barnes and wife Cara; and his mother, Jean Barnes. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation at: donate.bbrfoundation.org.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
