Tribute

Calvin Chester Ragsdale passed to join his beloved Rose on November 11, 2018. Rose Loeffelholz Ragsdale was the love of his life. They married in August 1951 and lived in Oklahoma City and Norman until her death June 17, 2010. Chester was born September 6 1927 west of Norman and then moved to Little Axe where he went to grade school. He attended Norman high school.
He joined the Air Force on December 4, 1945. There he worked as an air traffic controller at Orly field in Paris and participated in the Berlin airlift 1947 through 1948. Sergeant Ragsdale left the Air Force in November 1948 and return to Norman.
He retired from Landmark Land in the mid-1980s.
He and Rose attended Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Norman he was also active in the Golden Agers.
Chester was also pre-deceased by his father Calvin Creed Ragsdale, his mother Ida Laano George Ragsdale, his brothers Edmond, Troy and his sisters Geraldine and Imogene. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, November 17 at 10 AM. Viewing will be from 8 AM till 10 AM at Havenbrook. In lieu of flowers donations to Saint Joseph's in Chester's memory or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
