Carl Dale Mahan went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12th, 2018.

Carl was born May 26, 1940 on a rural farm near Tabler, Oklahoma. The family moved to Fletcher, OK in the early 1940’s and then later to Cyril, Oklahoma. As a young man he attended First Baptist Church of Cyril, Oklahoma where he was baptized. He more recently attended the Journey Church in Norman, Oklahoma. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Thelma Mahan, brothers CL Mahan of Moore, Oklahoma, Levoy Mahan of Arlington, Texas, Delbert Mahan of Wichita Falls, Texas and Sandra Mason of Crowley, Texas.

While in high school he met the love of his life Ida Pauline Mahan. They were wed August 15th, 1959. They had two boys Bryan Mahan and Bruce and wife Sherri Mahan. He had 6 grandchildren, BJ Mahan of Nashville, TN, Brant and wife Joanna Mahan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Blair Mahan and Connor Mahan of Norman, Oklahoma Zachari and wife Lauren Reece of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Josh Reece of Moore, OK as well as five great-grandchildren, Blaine Mahan of Norman, Oklahoma, Ashyr and Kaden Mahan of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Asa and Juda Reece of Edmond, OK. He also had many nephews and nieces as well as his neighbors whom he loved as family.

Carl attended public schools at Cyril, Oklahoma from 1st grade through 12th grade, graduating in 1958. He attended college at Southwestern State in Weatherford, Oklahoma earning a bachelor of Education, and Masters degree while attending Administrative classes at University of Oklahoma. He taught elementary school for 20 years in Oklahoma and was a sales representative for a company in Kansas for Eleven years.

Of the many joys in his life, his family played a very important role and family get-togethers were essential to his happiness. He and Pauline loved to travel, and felt extremely blessed that they were able to see and experience so many places. He was blessed to be able to have a full life with a loving family, his greatest blessing was being able to experience 57 years with the love of his life.

Carl was deeply loved and admired by all who knew him, and will be truly missed.

A luncheon will be held 12:00 Saturday February 24, 2018 at Havenbrook funeral home with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel
