Cathy Jean Nation

Cathy Jean Nation, 79, of Norman passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019. She was born September 19, 1939 in Crockett County, Tennessee to Gordon Wain and Beulah Frances Johnson. Cathy was the fifth of six children. Her family was farmers and she was born at home.
Cathy married Pete Nation on October 23, 1955. They had three children Jackie Wain, Joe Allen, and Catherine Denice. The moved from Tennessee to Oklahoma in 1963. She worked at Norman Hospital, TG&Y, and Dillards. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and working in the yard with her flowers. She would work for a while and when she got hot she would just get in the swimming pool to cool off. She really enjoyed family gatherings, so much that all the family would gather at her house to spend time together. Cathy was a member of Alameda Baptist Church and helped in the kitchen at times.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her 2 brothers, one sister, and two of her children, Joe and Denice. Cathy is survived by her husband of 63 years; son, Jack; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren, sisters, Carolyn and husband James Crittenden of Madil, OK, Laura and husband Jack Winter of Little Axe, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
