Chris Allen King, 61, of Norman passed away May 11, 2019. He was born February 17, 1958 in Santa Fe, NM to Herschel King and Ila Aleene Manning King.

Chris grew up in Hereford, TX and graduated from Hereford High School in 1976. He attended West Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1981. He was a member of the WT Herdsmen and was the handler of the school’s mascot, a buffalo. Chris met Judy Lynn Birdwell at Hereford High School and they attended WT together. Chris married Judy in 1982 and they have lived in Norman, OK since 1982. They have 2 children, Ryan Scott King and Emily Nicole King. He is a member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, Norman Masonic lodge, India Shriners, a former president of Norman Shrine club, and a former assistant cub scout leader for troop #271. He was very passionate about his 1968 Ford Mustang, the Dallas Cowboys, OU and OSU football, and OKC Thunder.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel King and Ila Aleene Manning King. He is survived by his wife, Judy Birdwell King; and his children Ryan Scott King of Denver, CO. and Emily Nicole King of Norman, OK. His brother Dale King and his wife Lesa King of Edmond, OK, and 2 nieces Kelly Neal of Frisco, TX and Wendy Fugate of Norman, OK; his Father-in-law, William Howard Birdwell of Hereford, TX and his sister-in-law, Leslie Bergman of Denver, Co.

Interment will be at 9am on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at IOOF Cemetery in Norman followed by the Memorial service at 10 am at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, 419 S. University Blvd, Norman, OK.
