Claud Walter Taylor, Jr.

Claud Walter Taylor, Jr., age 84, of Norman, passed away August 25, 2021.  He was born September 22, 1936, in Claremore, OK, to the late Edith and Claude Walter Taylor, Sr.  Claud was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He then served as an ART/full-time reservist in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and retired as a Master Sergeant.  He was an aircraft mechanic at Tinker AFB with the 507th TAC.

Claud enjoyed hunting trips with his sons as the camp cook, fishing, attending auctions and trying to double his children’s inheritance at the casino.  His favorite times were the family get-togethers.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sherry Taylor; six children, Claud Walter Taylor, III ‘Bob’, Blaine Taylor and his wife Kris, Jonathan Taylor and his wife Anna Mae, Kimberly Wynns and her husband Kenny, Sally Ellis, and James Christopher Taylor ‘Chris’ and his wife Joy; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan E. Taylor; and his brother, Robert Taylor.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-7:00 p.m., with the family present from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.  Masks are requested by the family.  A private graveside service will be held at Tecumseh Mission Cemetery in Tecumseh, OK.  A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
