David Salih Zamudio passed away unexpectedly in his home in Norman, Oklahoma, on November 16, 2021, aged 33.
David was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 18, 1988, to Umit and John Zamudio. He grew up in Dallas, Antioch and Norman. He attended Norman High School where he developed a passion for acting. He appeared in a number of school productions, including Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also appeared as Danny in a production of Grease at the Sooner Theatre in Norman, to great critical reviews.
He carried his passion for acting to the University of Oklahoma School of Drama where he appeared in several productions, most notably Anna in the Tropics, The Laramie Project and Anatomy of Gray. He left the university to follow his dreams in Chicago, and later in New York, before returning to Norman.
He loved to travel, visiting his mother’s home country of Turkey and connecting with his family there. He also loved his step-family in England and visited London many times to see them. He adored his family.
David loved theatre, cinema and music and became very knowledgeable of the contemporary scene. Most importantly he loved his family and friends and had a tremendously kind heart for people around him. He had a great sense of humor and loved making people happy. Anyone who knew David, and he had many friends, was touched by his kindness. He will be sadly missed but remembered with the deepest never-ending love and affection.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
