Tribute

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of a great man known by many names. "Butter and Egg boy of Choctaw County", "The Godfather of Real Estate", D.W., but mostly known as Don Weldon Wells. He peacefully passed on Saturday, April 20th in his home with his soulmate by his side.
Don was born May 7th 1939. He was the 3rd child of 5. His parents Luther M. Wells and Irene Ashford Wells from Hugo, Oklahoma taught Don about hard work on their farm. He carried this knowledge with him thru out his life accomplishing many great things.
His dream was to be in the medical field and attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from East Central University with a B.S. degree in medical technology.
As life always does things change and in 1972 Don decided to enter the world of Real Estate. Here is where he earned the nickname "The Godfather of Real Estate". He helped shaped many of Norman's subdivision's and The Trails Golf Course. He became the President of The Norman Board Real Estate 2 times and earned The Life Time Achievement Award. He also became the 1st PTA president of Irving Middle School and staying true to his passion he was on the board of Norman Regional Hospital.
In his spare time he loved to fish and golf and became a member of the Thunderbird Fishing Club.
It saddens us to say goodbye to such an amazing man. He lived his life to the fullest, never taking anything for granted. I think he would say that among everything his greatest achievement was finding the love of his life 37 years ago, Pat Wells, and being blessed with 4 amazing children, Donna Hale, May Beth Jenner (deceased), Timothy Hill, and Matt Hill.
He is survived by his loving family and his wife Pat Wells, children Donna and Kyndall Hale, Tim and Samantha Hill, Matt and Linda Hill. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren Emily Wanzor, Devin, Patrick Hale, Tyler Hill, Ashley Hill, Madison Hill, Makayla Hill, Peyton Hill, and great grandchildren Charles Wanzor and Samuel Wanzor. He is also survived by his brother and sisters Milton and Faye Wells, Martin and Joye Wells, Sharon and Larry Hughes, Sue and Tom Gooch, as well as his father in law Lawerence Valentine. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as friend whom he considered his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Mary Beth Jenner
