Doreen McGowen

Doreen McGowen, age 80, of Norman, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020.  She was born January 21, 1939, in Wellingborough, England.  Doreen loved to knit and crochet, making many sweaters over the years.  She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and was a lover of animals, especially black cats and Scotties.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James W. McGowen; two daughters, JoAnn Anderson and husband Mark, Trudy Spradlin and husband Rick; one son, David McGowen and wife Lisa; eight grandchildren, Genevieve, Catherine, Jennifer, Keith, Robert, Rebecca, Alyssa and Kurtis, to whom she was known as Nannie; and fourteen great grandchildren, to whom she was known as Big Nannie.

Doreen was preceded in death by her father, Roger Mustoe; and one granddaughter, Susan.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
