Dr. Gladys 'Sherry' Sexton

Dr. Gladys ‘Sherry’ Sexton, age 78, of Norman, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021.  She was born January 11, 1943, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Arnold and Gladys Poe.  Sherry graduated from the University of Alabama with an undergraduate degree in economics and a doctorate degree in education.  She was a professor at OCU for many years.  Sherry loved to travel all over the world with her husband, and she enjoyed meeting the people and experiencing the culture of the places they visited.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ralph Sexton; son, Miles Kenneth Hurlbut; step son, Michael Sexton; step daughters, Cheryl Castles and her husband Brian Castles, and Dr. Donna Jackson and her husband Dr. Rhett Jackson; grandchildren, Ashlyn Sexton, Rylan Sexton, Ben Castles and his wife Audrey, Sam Castles and his wife Alyssa, Jon Castles, Madeline Jackson and Stephen Jackson; and great grandson, Titus Castles.
