Edith Chloe Adams

Edith Ryals was born in Everton, Arkansas, to Frank and Hallie Ryals. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1920, and Edith grew up on a farm outside of Morris, Oklahoma. She graduated from Eram High School.
After high school, Edith moved to Dallas, Texas, where she met Benito Banez. They were married on November 18, 1937. After living in several places in the Midwest, they settled in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1942, where they had two children, Ray, born in 1942, and Sandra, born in 1952.
Her first marriage ended in 1957, and she raised her son and daughter by herself, working at various jobs in the Cleveland area.
She met Cecil Adams in 1962, and they were married June 19, 1971. Cecil was the love of her life, and their marriage lasted until his death on August 24, 1981.
She remained in Cleveland until 2007, when she moved to Oklahoma to be closer to her children.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by her son, Ray Banez of Moore; daughter, Sandra Hankins and husband Richard Hankins of Norman; two granddaughters, Theresa Azlin and her husband Jon of Norman, and Shannon Jones and her husband A.J. of Oklahoma City; two great grandsons, Deuce Mobley and Aidan Azlin of Norman; three great granddaughters, Keelie Romo of Oklahoma City, and Aniston and Chloe Azlin of Norman; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
