In the second half of her career, she served as an elementary school guidance counselor in both Moore, Oklahoma, and Montgomery County, Maryland. She touched the lives of many students and families with her dedication, warmth, and kindness.
Elsie loved her family and was passionate about many things in life, including spending time with her grandchildren, sports, traveling, the arts, line dancing, and volunteering for the Red Cross and Therapeutic Horse Riding. She will be remembered for her outgoing spirit, infectious laughter, and generous heart.
After retiring, Elsie and her husband co-owned the Fudge and Ice Cream Store in the historic City of Frederick, Maryland, where she made many friends and created lasting memories.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, in 2019, her parents, and her sisters, Celia Ann Trent and Mary Carol Hansen. She is survived by her three children, Scott Andrew Tobin, Kimberly Ann Ward and her husband Dave, and Steven George Tobin and his wife Diane; and grandchildren, Alexis Tobin, Austin Tobin, Bray Burkholder, Brendon Burkholder, Kayla Ward, and Tyler Ward.
