Tribute

Elton Woodrow Cary, ninety-nine, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 28th, 2020.  He was born December 28th, 1920 in Holtville, California to Frank Cary and Maude Weeks.

 

After high school, Elton served his country in the Army Aircorp during World War II, and afterwards worked in civil service for the U.S. Air Force.  He was active for many years with the Masons and as a an adult leader of the Norman chapter of DeMolay.  He was an early member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church and attended worship services faithfully until the day he died.

 

Elton is the last surviving of six siblings and is preceded in his death by his wife of sixty-nine years, Shirley; as well as one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.  He is survived by his three children, Daniel, David, and Clairanne; their spouses; ten grandkids; and five great-grandbabies.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, March 6th, 2020 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at Christ the King Presbyterian Church with internment following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 2301 East Indian Hills Road in Norman.
