Ester Imogene Bennett was born on November 1, 1926 in Adel, Oklahoma to Warren and Jenny Cassey. As one of thirteen children, Imogene married W.S (Bill) Bennett. They moved to Norman Oklahoma where they raised their four children, two boys and two girls. Imogene was a homemaker until 1961 when she began working in the deli of Sterr’s Grocery to help pay for her daughter’s wedding. She enjoyed working there so much she remained for several years.
She was a member of Berry Road Baptist Church until moving across town where she then joined Alameda Baptist Church and remained a member until her death. Imogene was such a kind soul that she requested can good donations be made to her church for her 90th birthday in lieu of gifts.
Ester Imogene Bennett is preceded in death by her husband W.S (Bill) Bennett, her sons Kent and Darrell, daughter Carol and eleven siblings.
