PENDLEY, Gail Lee, age 69, of Norman, OK passed away Friday, September 13, 2019. She was born October 6, 1949 in Portland, ME to William and Frances (Bimson) Knight.
Gail grew up in Portland, Maine. She often reminisced on fond memories of going to the beach with her family and relaxing by the ocean. She loved playing hide & seek, dodgeball, and bowling. She graduating from Deering High School in 1967. At 21 years old she moved to Norman, OK where she worked as a welder for Shaklee Manufacturing.
On July 4, 1981 she married the love of her life, Roy Charles (Chuck) Pendley. In November of 1983, their little miracle arrived when she gave birth to their only child, Kristen (Krissy) Nicole.
Gail was very active in her daughters activities and schools she attended. She volunteered at Irving Middle School to eventually become the face of the office at the front desk. She thoroughly enjoyed her job there assisting students and making personal connections with them. She remained in contact with several former students and faculty from Irving over the years since retiring in 2010.
Since her retirement, Gail enjoyed life to the fullest being a fulltime 'Grammie' to her two grandchildren Jocelyn and Bryson. She loved spending time with them every chance she got. They were her motivation to keep fighting cancer.
The family sincerely appreciates Dr. Katherine Moxley for all her support and care for Gail.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her husband Chuck, daughter Krissy, son-in-law Ryan, and their children Jocelyn and Bryson; Ryan's parents Richard and Janet McMurray. Gail is also survived by four siblings in Maine: Linda Steeves, Laurie Labrie, Leanne Sanso, and Larry Knight; their spouses and children; step-son Michael Laudette, his daughter Tiffany and son Austin, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Crossroads Church at 8901 S Shields Blvd in Oklahoma City with interment following at IOOF Cemetery in Norman.
