We sisters knew George and Jimmy many years ago. We became acquainted as teenagers at teen-hops in Paulsvalley. George and Jimmy were fine young gentlemen. We look back on those very short days with fondness.

My sisters and I are so sorry for your loss, yet happy that George knew the Lord and you and his family will meet again in heaven. That is our hope as well.

Please let Jimmy know we are thinking of him too.
God bless.
Sincerely,
Sharon Scarce

George was a blessing to so many people...even my grandson.
I remember George playing the guitar while he sat at the picnic table, at the park...my grandson stood there with his hands behind his back, just watching and listening.
He was about four.
I remember the "Chili Song" that he made up years ago.
Just a couple of many things about him.
He was a blessing. He will be greatly missed.

Hey George,

This is the Omniscience Ruler of all Creation speaking. That’s right, you know Me as “Heavenly Father”.

Do you remember that promotion you put-in-for on the day you made My Son your personal Lord and Savior? Well, George, you promotion has come through. I know some of your friends and family may think it is a little premature. But you know Me. I always do things in exactly the right order and time. And this is the time for your promotion! I had it planned before the foundations of the world.

Like I said, some of your friends may think I should have waited a while longer. I understand. It may be hard for them having you change work-stations. You have been a good and faithful servant. And as it is with every promotion, it will necessary for some of my other children to take-up-the-slack where you left-off… New people will have to assume new jobs. Jobs of encouragement, praise, being steadfast and loyal and all those other many things you did so well down there. But don’t worry. I’ll be there to help them… just as I did for you.

Your family will have new jobs, too. They will have to lean on Me like never before. They will have to trust me like never before. But don’t fret, George, this is a good thing. It may be hard for them (at least for a while) but they will come to understand that your promotion is ultimately for My glory… and, like everything I do, for your benefit and their gain. They will continue to be my servants and they will excel at it. My other servants will help them.

George, I took note of how well you represented Me in your old job; how everyone you met saw My Son glorified in you; and how you loved others just like I told you to do. You did that job as a matter of routine. It was not an effort… it was just what you did. I saw how you helped others in My name and was a faithful friend to those around you. You touched many people… many in ways you didn’t even know. Some of those people you have never met. People will be here with Me… with Us… because of you, George. You worked, you gave, you shared, you helped. You read your job description from the Eternal Rules and Procedures Manual. You followed it just like I wanted you to. I’m giving you an “exceptional” for your performance. And, yes George, I know that it wasn’t done as a means to merit, but out of gratitude and love. I appreciate that! Thank you!

However, I recently heard a one of your detractors say, “George really wasn’t perfect. As a matter of fact, he was far from it. He had many faults.” (Yes, I know the workplace is difficult and there is a lot of jealousy out there. You know how it treated My Son.) Well, George, that bit of gossip made me curious. I checked your records and I just couldn’t find any faults at all! You know My Son! He has a reputation of expunging faults from many people’s records. He may have edited yours. I just can’t remember. But! Be that as it may, your record is completely flawless! Good job! You have done such a good job that when people think of you, they will also think of Me. That’s quite a complement! I wish I could say that about all my servants.

George, when you get to your new job location, you are going to find it to be a marvelous place to work. I know it’s a cliché but we like to think of ourselves as “One Big Happy Family”. Many say the accommodations are like grand mansions. But, I like to think of them as single-units with numerous luxury rooms… I’ll let you decide. Every one of us up here has an “open door policy”. I’ll come to your room or you can come Mine anytime you choose. We will fellowship together and spend as long as you like discussing any subject you desire. You’ll find those things that appeared so strange in your old position will now be much more clear. It seems to always happen that way!

Now, George, about your new job… you have overcome the world. I need someone to be joint-heirs with My Son; to sit in authority over nations; even to judge angels. But also I have a special need that only you can fulfil. I need someone to lead singing in one of My new Praise and Worship Choirs. There will be singers of every tongue, every nation and every tribe. You can help them praise and glorify Me (like you did in your old job), but now every note will be perfect. Every motive, true. Every hymn, flawless. Your voices will blend in perfect harmony like a rainbow blends together in perfect color. I have a guitar that has been tuned just for you. You can play it to praise Me any time you choose for as long as you choose.

George, I’m will pleased with your many years of exceptional service. You are going to do well in your new position! I’m going to keep you in My workforce for a long, long time. Yes… for eternity!

Leslie,
I was so saddened to learn of George's passing much too young! My memories are of George working as a projectionist at the Corral Drive In about 48 years ago and passing that job down to Skip. I don't recall him playing guitar then, but he did play some mean blues songs on the piano. He was always a nice and fun guy to be around. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

George was one of the first coworkers during my career. He was a great man and I never heard him say anything negative about anyone. He had always been a goto person in the Faa. Loved playing the guitar and was a good shepherd to God. He will be missed and have no doubt where is is today.
