Harold Leroy Gill

Harold L. Gill, 92, of Norman, Oklahoma died Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in Conway, Arkansas. Mr. Gill was born on February 17, 1926, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Sam and Charlotte Gill. He was raised and went to school in Norman. He enlisted in the Navy on July 27, 1943, he proudly served on the USS Dixie during World War II until he was discharged on March 12, 1946. Harold married Betty Katherine Gill on January 12, 1946 and was happily married for 63 years. Following discharge from the Navy, he had a career at Tinker Airforce Base as a mechanic working on fire safety for planes. Harold enjoyed fishing, antiquing with Betty, eating sweets, woodworking, and spoiling his grandkids/great grandkids and everyone’s dogs. He lived a long and happy life.
Harold L. Gill was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Merle Gill, Duane Gill, and sister, Mary Meyer. He is survived by his brother, Wayne Gill and sister, Naomi Snowden and their families; son, Randy Gill and daughter, Paulette Edington; grandchildren, James P. Whited, Jr. and wife, Teresa; Tammie Murphy and husband Marty, Felicia Spector and husband, David; great grandchildren, Michael M. Murphy, Maddison R. Murphy, Hunter Cole Duncan, Alayna M. Whited, Lance A. Whited, and Cooper R. Spector.
