Harold Herndon Haralson Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Harold Herndon Haralson Sr., announces his passing on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was born May 13, 1935, in Norman, OK to Ruben Herndon Haralson and Hazel Haroldine Huff Haralson.

Harold married his wife Ailene Wilson in 1954 in Norman. He attended Norman schools, including OU, where he earned his bachelors degree in Geology in 1959. Harold worked as a geophysicist, geologist, and a computer analyst during his career and was conducting worldwide oil exploration for B.P. Amoco when he retired. He received a distinguished service award from BP in England upon his retirement and the Delta Kappa Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha gave him the Zeus award for outstanding contributions for 2017 and 2018. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and was proud to be descended from a long line of veterans serving their country from the American Revolution thru to the present time. He worked in his church, Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church, participating in numerous mission trips, serving as a lay leader, as well as mentoring to many young people over the years. His mother Hazel was a founding member of Goodrich. Harold was a big sports fan and liked to play golf. He was also known for his contagious laughter and dry sense of humor.

Loved ones that preceded Harold include his parents and his son, David John Haralson. Loved ones that will miss Harold until they meet again are his wife of 64 years, Ailene; his children, Dr. Harold (Sue) Haralson II, Mark Haralson, and Charles Haralson Sr.; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Haralson, Matthew Haralson, Courtney Crites, Belinda Elliot, Christina (Brian) Hazlett, Charles Haralson Jr., and Allyson Haralson; his great grandchildren, Kristopher Elliott, Austin Hazlett, Cameron Hazlett, Dylan Hazlett, McKinzie Elliott, Alexander Elliott, BreAunna Hazlett, Braydon Elliott, and Trystin Sullivan; one great great grandchild, Bentley Elliot; his brother Don (Luella) Haralson, his nephew Douglas (Cindy) Haralson; and three great nephews, Logan, Connor, and Ian Haralson.

Visitation for will be from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Desi Sharp.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church.
