Howard F. Meador, 87, of Norman, passed away September 16, 2019. He was born September 18, 1931, in Harned, KY, to the late Franklin and Ella Meador. In 1952, Howard married Rebecca Fryar Meador. They were married for 49 years until she preceded him in death in 2001. After serving two years, in the U.S. Army, Howard was a member of the Army National Guard Reserves for six years. He was employed as an aircraft machinist at Tinker Air Force Base for 41 years. After retirement he enjoyed driving vehicles for various car dealerships in the Norman area for a number of years. In 2003, Howard married Marva B. Masters Meador.
A long-time passionate OU sports fan, he held season tickets for various sports for many years. Howard also enjoyed traveling extensively all over the country with family and friends.
Howard is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marva B. Masters Meador; two sons, Keith H. Meador and wife Christy, Curtis G. Masters and wife Lori; one daughter, Karyn Masters-Hayes and husband John; one daughter-in-law, Paula Y. Masters; four grandchildren, Thomas K. Meador, Jessica L. Tanzy, Addison J. Masters and Kelley Ann Blackman; one brother, C.B. Meador and wife Leli; one sister-in-law, Deleta Meador; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Howard was preceded in death by one son, Kelly G. Masters; and two brothers, Maurice Meador and wife Margaret, and Buford Meador.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the funeral home with Dr. Wade E. Smith officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK.
