James David Rettig, age 40, of Norman, passed away June 25, 2022. He was born on September 16, 1981, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James grew up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 2001. After graduating, James served in the United States Army. He moved to Norman in 2008.
James enjoyed playing video games, watching comedies and drawing. He was a very talented artist. He also loved muscle cars and attending car shows. He had a huge heart and was a loving father, son, and brother, and he will be deeply missed by so many.
James is survived by his son, Caleb Rettig of Broken Arrow, OK; both parents, Dennis and Patricia Rettig of Norman, OK; brothers and sister, Randy Rettig and wife, Sarah, of Boonsboro, MD, April Tally and husband, Travis, of Rockdale, TX; and Dustin Rettig of Coweta, OK. He is also survived by his beloved canine companion, Saint. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Ann Rettig; and his maternal grandparents, Cecil and Lucille Tarpley.
