Jarrod Thomas Raymond

Jarrod Thomas Raymond was born April 3, 1991 in Oklahoma City to Shelli and George.  Jarrod passed away unexpectedly in his home on March 11, 2023 after battling the effects of the kidney disease that had increasingly taken its toll on him.  He is survived by his mother, father, brothers, niece, nephew and many other family members and friends that were just like family to him.

Jarrod graduated from Norman North High School in 2009 and spent over a decade with J & J Tree and Lawn Service that he owned with his dear friend Joshua Hill. 

Jarrod never met a stranger and could engage in conversation about most any topic with anyone.  He loved nature and being outside for work and for play.  He always tried to accept an opportunity to enjoy disc golf or water volleyball with his friends.  His love of the outdoors drove him to many adventures in Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Alaska, Utah and a couple of journeys along the Appalachian Trail.

You’ve never met a more warm, free-spirited, non-materialistic person with an infectious smile than Jarrod.  Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him would agree that he was one of the most loyal friends you would ever have. The world would be better off if everyone exhibited the humanity and friendliness Jarrod exuded on a daily basis. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed well beyond this mourning and grieving period.

A Celebration of Jarrod’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St, Norman, OK.  The family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A reception will follow the service at Lazy Circles Brewing, 422 E. Main St, Norman, OK.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family just asks for everyone to have positive thoughts and treat everyone how Jarrod would treat them, like family.
