Tribute

 

Jeanne Duncan Bacon, of Stillwater, passed away on March 28, 2021, at the age of 87.  She was born September 17, 1933 in Pawhuska Oklahoma to Daniel G. Duncan and Marium Duncan. 

 

During Jeanne’s 6th year of school, her family relocated from Pawhuska to Bartlesville.  This was when she met her future husband, Charles ‘Charlie’ Bacon, and began dating him while in high school.  

 

Jeanne began her college education at the University of Oklahoma where she joined the Chi Omega sorority.  After her freshman year, she transferred to Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Drama and Education.  She completed her student teaching at US Grant High School in Oklahoma City.

 

She married Charlie in June of 1955, and he soon joined the US Army.  They were stationed in Okinawa for several years.

 

After completing his military service, Charlie pursued multiple degrees in Electrical Engineering during which they lived in Stillwater, OK and East Lansing, MI.

 

Jeanne was active in P.E.O, enjoyed Sunday school, playing bridge, golf, performing in community theatrical productions and attending OSU basketball and football games.  Jeanne was a HUGE Cowboy fan.

 

Jeanne also enjoyed entertaining, attending musicals, practical jokes, gardening, antiques and interior decorating.  Jeanne was a petite woman with a fiery, energetic and mischievous personality.

 

Jeanne was Charlie’s biggest fan, and he was hers.  Their love was patient, supportive and strong.  They were soul mates that enjoyed traveling all over the world, especially Italy.

 

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved Charlie.  She is survived by her two children, Stephen Bacon of Oklahoma City, and Jan Bacon Fleming (Bill) of Norman; grandchildren, Tiffany Bacon, Callie Bacon Hamilton (Bryce), Chelsea Hartley (Owen), Kristen Balfour-Grice; and five great grandchildren.

 

A memorial service is not planned due to COVID.

 

Memorials may be made in the memory of Jeanne Bacon to the charity of choice.
