Jessica Leigh (Knapp) Nelson went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 23, 2018. She was born February 16, 1987 in Fort Worth, Texas to Michael Chris Knapp and Janet (Burnett) Miller.
Jessi moved with her parents to Norman, Oklahoma in 1988, where she attended Monroe, Roosevelt and Whittier schools. She graduated from Norman North in 2005 and attended OU for one semester. In 2016, she received a National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician and worked at various pharmacies. She was an exceptional student and always maintained a high grade point average. More importantly, she was naturally curious and loved learning. She was blessed with a heart of gold and helped those less fortunate than herself.
Along the way, Jessi struggled with addiction issues. She repeatedly tried to conquer her illness. Tragically, she did not win her battle. Through all her troubles, Jessi maintained her faith in God and her love for her daughters, Emma and Natalie.
Jessi was preceded in death by her brother, John William Knapp. Jessi is survived by her father, Michael Chris Knapp and his wife Carol; stepbrothers Will Tankersley and Teddy Tankersley; mother Janet Miller and her husband Joseph; daughters, Emma Nelson and Natalie Nelson; sister, Lindsay Knapp; step-brother, Aaron “AJ” Miller and his wife Kayla; Grandparents, Charles and Janice Burnett; Grandparent Aaron Miller and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm on Sunday.
Visitation will be from 1pm until 8 pm Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 2pm Monday, October 29, 2018 Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman. Interment follows at IOOF Cemetery in Norman.
