Jimmie E. Madole, of Norman, passed away May 21, 2019 at the age of 79. Jimmie was born November 17, 1939 in Lexington, OK to Claud and Velma (Hensley) Madole.
Jimmie worked for over 21 years at the Norman Transcript and then worked for 21 years at General Motors. In his free time, he loved woodworking and enjoyed traveling around the world with his best friend and wife of 57 years, Margie (Eason) Madole. They drove in their RV through every state except Hawaii. They also took their RV through Mexico and Canada.
Jimmie loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bobbie Madole.
He leaves cherished memories with his loving wife, Margie Madole of the home; his son Gary Madole and wife Traci of Norman, son Mike Madole and wife Deanna of Moore; four grandsons: Sean Madole and wife Kylie of Norman, Hunter Madole and wife Brittany of Moore, Connor Madole and wife Derica of Washington, OK, Hayden Madole of Norman; step grandson Amon Rowe of Norman; and great grandson Camden Madole. He is also survived by his cousin Jan Hensley, who was raised as his sister; and many other loving relatives and countless friends.
A visitation will be held at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4-8 pm with the family receiving friends from 6-8 pm. There will be a family graveside service at 11:30 am on Friday, May 24 at the Norman I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 24 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1777 E. Robinson St. in Norman. The family requests casual dress for those attending his service.
