JoAnn Butts

JoAnn Butts, age 81, of Noble, passed away March 6, 2021.  She was born February 22, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Ralph and Myrtle Baldwin.  JoAnn returned to school after her children were older, graduated with honors from UCO, earned two Masters Degrees, and went on to be a Special Education teacher.

JoAnn enjoyed traveling and meeting new people.  She never met a stranger.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life.  Known affectionately as ‘Mama Butts’ to everyone, she will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Butts; son, James Daniel Butts; grandson, Michael Hoyt; and three siblings, Joe Baldwin, Ralph Baldwin and Mary Monroe.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Butts and his wife Teri, and Christopher Butts and his wife Ann; five daughters, Angela Jo Hoyt, Cheryl Hendrickson, Carol Eckert, Cathy Jo Smith, and Susan Joan Wood and her husband Neal; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
