Jorge Nicolas Claros, 76, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday morning July 31, 2018. He was born September 10, 1941 in Cochabamba, Bolivia to Hermogenes Claros Arce and Rosa La Fuente de Claros. As a boy, he grew up loving the game of soccer and eventually played professionally in Bolivia for Aurora winning the Championship in 1963. He moved to the United States in 1964. Jorge served in the Vietnam War where he sustained injury under enemy fire and received commendations for his dedication and bravery. In July 1969, Jorge began his lifetime career in the automotive industry. He worked for General Motors for 36 ½ years, retiring in October, 2005. It was during this time, Jorge raised a family of 4 children. He passed along his love of soccer and athletics to his boys. His love of music was also passed along to his children. He loved his family and seemed to work non-stop to provide for them whether it was at the auto plant or in the garden he tended to each year. Although Jorge came to the United States with humble beginnings, it motivated him to work hard. He took great pride in being able to provide a good lifestyle for his family in America. After retirement, he shared time between his home and family in the United States and his family in Bolivia. Jorge enjoyed traveling. He loved visiting multiple destinations in South America after retirement making friends wherever he went. Jorge had an innate curiosity and always enjoyed learning about new places whether it be about the weather, culture, or animals that inhabited the land. He is survived by his sons Jean Pierre and Geovanni Claros and daughters Karina Moss and Julianna Claros. He is also survived by his grandchildren Romi and Blake Moss, sister Maria Yolanda Claros, sons-in-law Brandon Moss and Michael Solis, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
