I wanted to reach out and extend my prayers. I also am curious of any family members might contact me. I would like to see if we are related. My G.G.G. Grandfather's name was Joseph C. Long. So, you can see my curiosity about lineage. I apologize if this comes off as distasteful, as I mean no disrespect.
C. Long

I am so sorry for your loss. May the words of our loving heavenly Father bring your family comfort and strength during this most difficult time as He promises to bring our loved ones back to life in a perfect world where there will be no more suffering or death (John 5:28-29 & Revelation 21:4).

I want to extend my condolences to the family and friends of Joe. I knew him in his role as special counsel to NASAA - he was a champion for investor protection and the important role of state securities regulators. His many years of writing briefs, serving as a an expert, leading the charge in the drafting of the Uniform Securities Act of 1985 were critical to NASAA and many of us who benefited from his counsel. I don't want to forget the many NASAA conferences, meetings and after hours poker games.

Family of Professor Long,
I was one of Professor Long's students, while at OU Law 1970 - 1973. I was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 1973, and then served 3 years as a Navy JAG attorney, before becoming a federal prosecutor in Jacksonville, Florida, for 17 years. I am now in private practice, specializing in criminal defense. However, I am still using some of the legal education Professor Long imparted to me all those years ago!
I want you know that, although some law school professors are not always pleasant, and may not appear genuinely interested in helping their students learn the law, Professor Long was very nurturing, and thus learning from him was a pleasure. He was one of my favorite professors. I have very fond memories of being in his classroom and learning from him, so please know he will be missed.
I was so impressed with his teachings on corporations that, when I took the Oklahoma Bar exam, and had to answer, by hand, the 32 questions, over two days, I mistakenly assumed an ethics question was a corporations question. However, when the second ethics question came up the same day, I realized the first question was also an ethics question, so I had to hurry up and answer both ethics questions at the same time. In any event, you should know that I would have aced the "corporations" question, thanks to the tutelage of Professor Long.
Please accept my condolences.
Sincerely,
Curtis Fallgatter

My deepest condolences to the family. I hope you find comfort in our Heavenly Fathers promise for the future found in Isaiah 25:8. There he promises to "swallow up death forever" and to "wipe away the tears from ALL faces." Yes, soon God will eliminate death forever and restore humans to a beautiful paradise earth, where we can all live forever! (Psalms 37:29) I hope these wonderful thoughts can bring you comfort during this extremely difficult time
