Judy Calhoun, age 66, of Norman, passed away December 16, 2020. She was born February 19, 1954, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Judy retired from General Motors after many years. She was a very proud Democrat and was heavily involved in the UAW.
Just was a bright light that was always fighting for what she believed. Her dedication to her causes and principles was unwavering and equal to none. And, if it’s true that faith can move a mountain, then she could move the Rock of Gibraltar. Judy was enthusiastic for any task that she took on – from holding office in her party or union to working for her candidates to get them elected.
Judy was a loyal friend to many and you never had to guess where you stood with her. She stuck by those that she cared about through thick and thin and everywhere in between. She was just a lot of fun to be around. Judy had a way of making you feel better when you parted than when you began – she just made you feel special and would show how much she cared.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie Wyrick; father and step mother, Jesse and Gerry Wyrick; and step sister, Gayla Rice.
Judy is survived by her sister and best friend, Nelda Cox; niece, Lisa Lloyd and her husband Doug; nephews, Roman Cox, and Christopher Cox and his wife Tonya; nine great nieces and nephews; uncle, Jim Hamman; and numerous cousins.
