Tribute

Julia "Judy" Lohmann passed early Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, from COVID-19 complications. Born Nov. 18, 1939, to King James and Margaret Shumate Davenport in Pauls Valley, Okla., Judy was a kind, strong, and friendly girl, being named Pauls Valley High School Football Homecoming Queen her senior year. Judy married James Allen Stine in 1958 and the couple added John Allen (Johnny) in 1959; Jennifer Kay, who passed shortly after birth in 1961; and daughter, Sandra Elise (Sandy), in 1963 to their family. The couple moved from Pauls Valley to Norman in the fall of 1963. Judy married Phillip Jay Lohmann in 1973 and became stepmother to his children, Jeff and Tammy Lohmann. The family lived in Norman, cheering on the Sooners together, until Phil's death in 1998. Judy remained steadfast in her love of the Sooners for the rest of her life.

Judy was a fighter, overcoming immeasurable loss, including surviving and thriving after a brain aneurysm in 1990. Re-learning how to walk, speak, and live independently, Judy beat the odds from her prognosis and lived another 30 years. Judy was a fan of John Wayne, Dr Pepper, and any dog she happened to encounter. She will be fiercely missed by her family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Lohmann; son, John Stine; daughter, Jennifer Kay Stine; stepson, Jeff Lohmann; stepdaughter, Tammy Lohmann Frazier; and parents, King James Davenport and Margaret Shumate Sacra Brew.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Elise (Stine) Brickman of Norman, Okla.; nine grandchildren: Alex Lohmann of Portland, Ore., Erin Elise Brickman and Madison Brickman of Norman, Okla.; Jordan Brickman of Denver; Seba Stine Green of Katy, Texas; Thompson Stine and Libby Stine of Houston; and Jay Frazier and Colton Frazier of Brighton, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren, John and Elizabeth Green and Margaret Brickman. She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Ellison Stine and Connie Huddleston; sons-in-law, Jamie Brickman and David Frazier; as well as numerous cousins with whom she was very close with her entire life.

The family would like to specifically thank her doctor of more than 20 years, Tom Merrill, as well as Christi Dobbs and the entire staff of Arbor House for the love and care she received in her residence. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date when it is safe to resume gatherings.
