Kent N. Myers

Kent N. Myers, age 83, of Norman, passed away August 5, 2022.  He was born November 11, 1938, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Virginia Myers.  Kent completed his undergraduate studies in engineering at West Virginia University and obtained his master’s degree in sociology from the University of Oklahoma.  Kent served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was stationed in France.  He had a long career as a petroleum engineer, and owned Kent Engineering.  Kent was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and was active in the Red Earth Group of the Oklahoma Sierra Club.

Kent was a photography curmudgeon and played tennis into his 70s.  He loved nature and the outdoors.  A loving husband and father, he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sheila Myers; son, Nick Myers and his wife Stephanie Gandulla; and daughter, Krisna Myers and her partner Mike Lee.  In addition to his mother, Kent was preceded in death by his brother, Randolph Myers.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Good Shepherd Hospice and the staff of Concordia Skilled Nursing for their compassion and care given to Kent.
