Larry Edward Busking

Larry Edward Busking of Norman, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2019. He was born to Eulene Brunkhorst Busking and Herbert Louis Busking in Imperial, Nebraska on January 23, 1953. Larry was baptized into the Christian faith at Redeemer Lutheran Church on March 8, 1953. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran on April 11, 1967. Larry graduated (in a class of 11) from Palisade High School in May of 1971. He served in the United Stated Navy from August 1971 to August 1975 at which time he was honorably discharged. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1979. Larry was united in marriage to Debby Thompson on January 22, 1983 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Together Larry and Debby had three daughters and four grandchildren.

Larry was a people person and could spark up a conversation and make a friend wherever he went. He had a very calm demeanor and had words of wisdom for anyone who needed them. Larry loved reading, fishing and traveling. He enjoyed spending many hours on the water and some of his favorite were when his grandchildren were with him.

Larry was proceeded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Mary Thompson. Larry is survived by his wife, Debby of Norman, OK; daughter Amy Johnson and husband Luke of Elsie, NE; daughter Abby Ogg and husband Travis of Madrid, NE and daughter Kelsey of Norman, Ok. Larry is also survived by his sister Joyce Richter and husband Del of Hayes Center, NE; brother Keith Busking of Norman, OK; Father-in-law William Thompson of Chillicothe, MO; Brother-in-law Eddy Thompson and wife Sharon of Springfield, MO; Sister-in-law Angie Warren and husband Pat of Kansas City, MO and sister-in-law Carolyn and husband Dave of Breckenridge, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Father Dwight Helt officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Memory of Larry Busking to the Norman Public Library System
