Linda Farris, 76, of Norman died Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in her home surrounded by family. Linda was born on February 29, 1944 in Norman, Oklahoma to Richard (Jack) and Juvine (Judy) Wilson.
In April of 1962, Linda married James (Terry) Farris. She worked at the Veterans Center in Norman until she retired in 1996. To many, Linda was larger than life. Linda had a contagious laugh and was always quite witty with her comebacks. She was a mother of five girls but was also a mother to many when she became a “Nana”, and from then on she was Nana to everyone.
Linda enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, playing cards and going to the casino. Linda’s love and compassion for her family will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Linda is survived by her husband of 57 years Terry of Norman, five daughters: Carla Meyers of Norman, Terri Smith of Norman, Barbara Hyde and husband Frankie of Washington, Shelia Boone and husband Ron of Norman, and Kathy Madden and husband Clifford of Washington; one brother, Butch Wilson and wife Debbie of Norman, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Jack Wilson, mother Judy Wilson, brother Donny Wilson and her son in law Dave Meyers.
