Linda Beth Kogan, age 79, beloved mother and friend, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021, from complications due to breast cancer. Anyone who knew Linda, knew that she was a fighter. She used her strength and spirit in her courageous battle for close to ten years.
Linda was a proud mother and grandmother. She loved her daughters, Julie Kogan and Lisa Kogan-Praska (David Praska), fiercely, as well as her younger brother, Roland. She also was immensely proud of her grandchildren, Joshua Davis, Noah Davis, Risa Davis and Saul Praska. She took every opportunity possible to show off pictures and share tales. Her grand dogs, Lyla, Shaggy, Maya, Franklin and Ted, took a close second in her affections, and if truth be told, may have been the first photos to come out of her wallet.
Linda met Robert (Bob) Kogan while attending college. She was immediately attracted to his irreverent sense of humor and love for life. They were married in 1964. Linda and Bob shared many adventures in their 36 years together. Their work and travels took them all over the world, including spending time in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Guam and Oklahoma. The Kogans were active members of the Baha’i Faith community and served as pioneers in Micronesia for two years. They were also competitive bridge players, both earning the honor of Life Master and traveling all over the country competing in tournaments.
She had a lifelong passion for all things fashion and makeup. She enrolled in cosmetology school in her 50s to become to a medical esthetician, and after completing advanced training in New York, served clients in her Norman, Oklahoma clinic, Skin Deep Skin Care Clinic.
Linda touched the lives of many with her wit and wisdom. She was always there to offer insights and advice (sometimes unsolicited, but always valued). Linda loved to sparkle —the more bling the better! She was a true character and utterly unforgettable.
We want to thank all of her friends that made her days brighter and all of her caregivers that helped her in her fight. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request a donation to the Breast Cancer Action organization. You can donate online at www.classy.org, or a donation to a dog rescue of your choice.
Shine on, mom!
