Marjorie Ruth (Spears) Hicks

Marjorie Ruth Spears Hicks, age 86, of Norman, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.  She was born on May 9, 1937, in Norman, to the late Johnny and Bonnie Spears.  Marjorie loved the Lord and was a member of Lakeside Church of God. 

After 35 years of service, Marjorie retired from General Electric.  She then worked at General Motors for over 10 years, and then worked at York International for several years.

Marjorie was a talented artist and an accomplished painter and woodworker.  She also enjoyed gardening, taking photos of her cats, and traveling on road trips to art shows.  She will be remembered as loving and loyal to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hicks; son, Jimmy Ray Hicks; great granddaughter, Lillie Rimmer; brother, Johnny Marvin Spears; and sister, Mae Isaacs.  She is survived by her son, Robert Hicks and his wife Nina; daughter, Diane Rimmer and her husband Charlie; brother, Darrel Spears and his wife Vickie; sister, Kathy Brookins; five grandchildren, Darci Poe and her husband Aaron, Christy Curry, Jed Rimmer and his wife Amanda, Amber Gustin and her husband Daniel and Aiden Hicks; and great grandchildren, Maddie Rimmer, Karley Curry, Karson Gustin, Kacie Rimmer, Korbin Curry, Kimberlynn Gustin, Payten Branum and Stella Poe.
