Mark H. Wyatt, age 58, of Norman Oklahoma, went to his eternal home on June 30, 2020, where he will forever be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on Sunday, August 13, 1961 in Anchorage Alaska to Harold Howard Wyatt and Frances Marie Henning Wyatt. Mark spent his early years in Anchorage before moving to Louisiana for a short time. They next moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma before finally settling down in Choctaw, Oklahoma. There Mark completed high school.
He moved to Norman and worked for the City of Norman until 1997. He met his wife Lori at Berry Road Baptist Church in 1995 and they were married on August 12, 1996. He went to The University of Oklahoma College of Art where he received his bachelor's degree in art followed by a Masters in Fine Art with an emphasis in Art History.
He taught at the University of Oklahoma School of Art, then at the Oklahoma City Community College art program, and lastly, at the Art Institute Online. He taught there for 9 years before his retirement in 2015, helping so many students as they saw his passion to help each one of them with their art. He did not miss a single day during that time. He was always checking in to see if anyone had a need. He spent much of his time coaching students with extra training when they showed a desire to learn more. He helped many of his students prepare for the yearly school art shows and all those who entered from his classes won awards every year.
He was saddened beyond words when his sight began failing and he became legally blind. He was then forced to retire. He missed teaching so very much, as it had been such a great part of his life. He turned his passion for helping people into reaching out to those on the internet who were hurting and had questions about life in general. He worked day and night, often for many hours, telling all who were interested about the love that Jesus Christ had for each one of them.
He wrote a book in 2018 explaining the trinity of God and showing proof for the deity of Jesus Christ. It is on Amazon and titled, “Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Our God” by Mark Wyatt. This book will live on as his legacy to the Lord and to all the people that he loved to help, despite his passing from this life much too soon.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Wyatt, his brothers, Phillip and Bob Wyatt, his mother-in-law Barbara Peshel, his father-in-law and step mother-in-law, Robert and Lois Peshel, his son-in-law Ricky Effinger, and his granddaughter, AhylissaAnn Green.
Mark is survived by his wife Lori, of the home, his children Barbara and her husband Tony Reynolds, Stephanie Green, David Baker and his wife Heather, his grandchildren Tonya, Jodee, Karleigh, Skyla, Junior, Jamie, Tommy, Khaleesi, Sierra, Hannah, David III, Paislee, Kingslee, his brother Eric Wyatt, and his nephews Jesse and Craig Wyatt.
He was a very loving and caring man who will be deeply missed. He was dedicated to showing his enduring love for his wife Lori each and every day they were together. He demonstrated the same kind of love that the Bible says a man should have for his wife, which is the kind of love that Christ had for His church.
